Fishing Portraits

What better way to record your experience of a lifetime than by having an oil painting of you holding your trophy fish! All you need to do is send me a good quality photograph. My portraits are painted in oils using artist quality materials. I will accurately measure details from your photograph to give a true representation of the image in my painting. I will also paint in a full background so that you have a complete record of the event. Your portait will be completed in about 8 weeks. More complex paintings may take longer. Prices are negotiable and dependant on the size and complexity of the image but will typically range from £150.00 for a smaill painting (12" x 10") to £350.00  for a larger one (20" x 16").  If you would like a quotation for a portrait or if you just have a request for a painting of a particular fish please use the Contact Me page to send yor enquiry.

Welcome to my website of fish paintings

I have been an angler all my life, travelling the world fishing for many different species of fish and have caught everything from sticklebacks to blue marlin.

I am also a self taught artist and have been painting for as long as I can remember. For much of that time I have enjoyed painting landscapes in oils and watercolours and I still do. More recently I have found a desire to paint the fish that I love and that has naturally progressed to painting portraits of anglers and their trophy fish.

I am a founder member of the Clew Bay Artists group of painters which exhibits annually in Wesport on the west coast of Ireland, and a committee member of and regular exhibitor at the Harrogate & Nidderdale Art Club in North Yorkshire. In 2013 I was awarded the Avant Art Trophy for the people's choice at their 2013 Ripley spring exhibition. I also enter a number of paintings each year for the St Gemma's Hospice autumn exhibition in Leeds.

In 2015 I became a member of the Association of Animal Artists and will be exhibiting at the annual exhibition later this year.
